The countdown is on to our Annual General Meeting in September and we’re hoping to see lots of new (and old!) faces at the event – especially if you’ve got something to say or want more involvement.
The Skipton BID actively works on behalf of all its members to help make the town a thriving centre of commerce – and for that to continue to happen, we need your support.
This year’s AGM will take place at the all new Alexander’s Bar & Kitchen at the top of the High Street from 6pm on Tuesday September 5th. This is your chance to have your voice heard and make a difference to our town.
As a Skipton levy paying business you can attend the AGM, though only Members of Skipton BID have voting rights. The good news is, it’s free for levy payers to apply to be members. You’ll be able to have your say on the topics raised on the agenda and put forward any ideas.
There will also be an interesting talk from Jackie Mulligan founder of ShopAppy.com — if you’re an independent retailer, then don’t miss this. ShopAppy enables you to sell your products via the app. It’s established in Saltaire Otley, Shipley, Ilkley, and Barnsley, to name but a few, and is now set to come to Skipton. However, for it to benefit your business, you need to listen to how it works and how it can help enhance your sales! Please read Jackie’s Blog Let’s bring ShopAppiness to Skipton.
Skipton BID Members are eligible to become Directors. We’re really keen to get new blood on the board and would love for each industry to be represented. Here is your opportunity to be more involved, offer new perspectives and opinions and to have a steer on how we can develop Skipton even further. At the AGM, we’ll be re-voting member directors but would also like new people to come forward. There are positions to fill and one of those could be you.
Not only is this a great opportunity to help develop the environment in which your business operates, but you’ll be networking closely with other local businesses. It’s an interesting team we have on board and the more personalities, the better.
We really want your businesses to succeed as much as you do and the BID is here to support that – we really can’t stress enough how important it is for members to reciprocate that support.
So, put this in your diary now: Skipton BID AGM, 6pm at Alexander’s on September 5. In the meantime, if you want to know more about becoming a member director, do not hesitate to contact us!
We look forward to seeing you there.
