Skipton BID is pleased to shine a light on the series of new business openings and refurbishments in the town centre.

Over the last few months, more than 10 businesses have either opened their doors for the first time or undergone refurbishment to expand their offer within Skipton town centre.

Skipton BID works closely with town’s business community – and the organisation is looking forward to engaging with the new additions.

Sarah Howsen, Skipton BID Manager, said: “We are delighted to see such a vast series of new businesses opening up in Skipton – adding to our thriving high street.

“We’ve already introduced our work to some of the new businesses and we can’t wait to meet the those that we haven’t yet and that are opening soon.

“Skipton already has a low vacancy rate at just 5% – and the boost of these new openings will help to lower this even more!”

Sit down for a lovely meal at the new Sorella Italian restaurant in High Corn Mill, or grab a delicious brownie and a coffee at Love Brownies on Victoria Square.

Enjoy heritage Indian and South Asian dishes at the Pitra Waterfront, which opened in the former Aagrah unit on Waterside Court in late 2025.

The team at Olive Lounge Travel on Otley Street are on hand to help you book that dream holiday after opening in late November.

The Kit Vault held a trial opening on the High Street recently – and the team said they were “blown away” by the response. They have now announced an official opening date on March 5^th.

Head down to The Glass House on Sheep Street to view their plants and other products to add to your home décor. They’re even selling products from Jeremy Clarkson’s Diddly Squat Farm, a unique first in Skipton town centre.

M&C Home Furnishings, which specialises in high end furnishings sold at discount prices, opened its doors on the new Cavendish Street site in early February.

Yorkies Fish & Chips is also preparing to launch on Sheep Street with an opening date to be confirmed soon.

Yorkshire Cancer Research has opened a second charity shop on Keighley Road, while the Martin House Hospice Charity has opened a shop in a bigger premises on the High Street.

Existing venues including The Red Lion and O’Malley’s Black Horse (formerly The Black Horse) have undergone revamps to increase their already popular offer to local people and visitors.

Skipton BID was also pleased to also see that the town was recently named as the best for wellbeing in the UK at the Wellbeing Living Awards 2026 – following on from the crown of the happiest place to live in the UK in December 2025.
