We’re absolutely delighted to share that our Nutcracker Trail was a great success over Christmas!
Data from the trail shows that around 800 people completed the trail, with visitors travelling from almost 60 different areas of the UK including Edinburgh, Dartford, Peterborough and the Lake District.
A huge thank you to all of the local businesses that hosted a Nutcracker – we’ve received some lovely feedback on the positive impact the trail had.

Looking at figures from our data partners at HUQ, we can see that the total footfall for December 2025 stood at 1,465,310 – with the highest daily recorded on December 17th at just over 75,000!
We can see that visitors travelled from 17 different locations, including Carlisle, Bolton, Barnsley and Goole.
Meanwhile, the busiest day of the week was shown to be a Tuesday in December with visitors spending an average of 4 hours and 16 minutes in the town centre on this day across the month.
