Bleed Kit Training for Skipton Businesses!

We were pleased to partner with local organisations to deliver the first training session to support businesses to use the new Bleed Kits in the town centre.

The Business Improvement District (BID) North Yorkshire Council, the Community Safety Hub and North Yorkshire Police all worked in partnership to deliver the first training session at Skipton BID office on the High Street last week.

Three Bleed Kits were recently installed in Aireville Park, on the toilet blocks in the Town Hall Car Park and next to the defibrillators at Skipton Bus Station – and the training was organised to help businesses to gain a better knowledge of the kits and how and when to use them correctly.

Celebrating New Businesses in Skipton

We were delighted to shine a light on the series of new business openings and refurbishments in our town centre.

Over the last few months, more than 10 businesses have either opened their doors for the first time or undergone refurbishment to expand their offer in Skipton.

We work closely with our town’s business community and we’re looking forward to engaging with the new additions.

We recently raised significant concerns with North Yorkshire Council following the announcement of an increase in car parking tariffs from April this year.

Along with other BIDs in North Yorkshire, we were concerned that increased parking charges will risk a negative impact on the local economy and accessibility into town centres.

Following our contact with the Council, the authority confirmed that the proposed changes to parking charges would be PAUSED.

Skipton Building Society (SBS) is currently in the process of encouraging workers back into using their office space for three days a week from September, rather than working from home on a more full-time basis.

The Building Society has reached out to us to request that we contact local hospitality businesses to see if any are happy to put on any incentives for SBS employees.

This could be a fantastic opportunity to draw new people into your business, alongside developing customer loyalty while helping to support our local business community.

If this is something you could offer, please email us on info@skiptonbid.com

Last week, we attended the Tourism Track event to showcase both our work and our businesses.
