Spooky season is fast approaching and the Skipton BID team are excited to announce details of the upcoming Halloween fun on offer in the town.

A free pop-up pumpkin patch is set to take over the Canal Basin area from 10am on Wednesday, October 29^th – bringing a traditional Halloween feel into Skipton town centre.

Grab a wheelbarrow, pick your favourite pumpkin and take the perfect picture at the photo opportunity on offer – all while enjoying the entertainment from the mischievous scarecrow!

But, in order to enter the patch, families must complete the Monster Trail, featuring 10 different ghosts and ghouls hidden in shop windows around Skipton town centre.

Those taking part must walk around town and note down the letters to spell out the mystery haunting phrase to enter the free pumpkin patch.

Sarah Howsen, Skipton BID Manager, said: “Halloween is nearly upon us and we’ve created a spooky plan of activities for all of the family this year!

“Remember you must tell us the haunting phrase to enter the pumpkin patch, so make sure you complete the spine-chilling trail first…

“There’s plenty on offer across the day, so come on down from 10am until 4pm on the day to join in with the fun.”

Once pumpkins have been picked, there will be a chance to join a free carving workshop to take it home ready to celebrate Halloween.

Creative Peeps will also have a craft stall with the opportunity for more activities, along with a Halloween-themed wildflower and seed bombing session to get messy and creative while spreading colour and life around a popular area of the town centre.

Monster Trail leaflets can be collected from either Skipton Town Hall or Craven Court from October 25^th until November 2^nd.

Those taking part will also have the chance to enter a prize draw but must again complete the mystery phrase to make a submission.
