BID excited to bring back Late-Night Shopping for lead up to Christmas in Skipton
Skipton BID is excited to share that late-night shopping is set to return to the town for the first time in a number of years.
After surveying the local business community earlier in the year, the Business Improvement District (BID) is pleased to announce that a late-night shopping event will be held in Skipton on Thursday, November 26th.
More than 40 businesses in both the retail and hospitality sectors have committed to staying open for extended hours until 8pm, with some putting on special offers and events to get involved with the festive fun.
Sarah Howsen, Skipton BID Manager, said: “We’re delighted to be reintroducing late-night shopping to Skipton, and it’s fantastic to see such a top response from our businesses.
“It’s a great opportunity to showcase everything Skipton has to offer, from our blend of independent retailers and national chains to the unique atmosphere that makes the town such a popular destination.
“As well as all the retailers, we’ve got pubs, bars and restaurants on board – so if you’ve worked up an appetite shopping why not grab a drink and a bite to eat?
“We’re looking forward to a wonderful evening that benefits both businesses and shoppers as we head into the festive season.”
The BID will be fully funding live music, buskers and more entertainment across the evening to add an extra element to the shopping experience.
Free parking will be available in the Town Hall Car Park from 5pm on the day – and flyers, leaflets and maps will be available to guide shoppers around the town centre to ensure they visit the different businesses that have chosen to take part.
The BID is pleased to share that funding has been secured from Visit North Yorkshire and North Yorkshire Council to support the organisation and delivery of the late-night shopping in Skipton.
“We’re very grateful to both Visit North Yorkshire and North Yorkshire Council for supporting the late-night shopping with this funding, which will help to boost the evening for the town,” Sarah Howsen added.
Skipton BID has organised this event to raise awareness of the North Yorkshire town as a shopping destination, with a vast range of products and services on offer from a high-quality business network.
