Skipton celebrates brilliant local business community as winners revealed at Business Awards 2026

Skipton’s businesses gathered to celebrate as the winners of the annual Business Awards were revealed last night.

Hundreds of the town’s business owners and top employees came together at Skipton Town Hall for the ceremony for this year’s awards on Monday night (October 5th).

Organised every year by the Skipton Business Improvement District (BID) team, the awards showcase the highest standards and quality on offer from the range of businesses in the local area.

Skipton BID Manager, Sarah Howsen, said: “We take great pride in organising and delivering these awards every year to shine a spotlight on our brilliant local businesses.

“All of the judges struggled to pick winners in each of the categories due to the high calibre of nominations, demonstrating the high standards within our town’s community.

“A huge thank you goes out to our sponsors and everyone involved in the organisation of these amazing awards – we couldn’t do it without you.”

There were 12 different categories in this year’s Business Awards, with winners announced in each during the ceremony on Monday.

Share Skipton, nominated for the volunteers’ outstanding contribution to the town, took home the ‘Shining Star’ prize. PCSO Gillian Seed received the Special Recognition Award in this category for her commitment and dedication to Skipton over multiple decades.

Workshops in Yorkshire claimed the Arts and Culture award for bringing high class art into the town, while The Mess Room won the Best Evening Entertainment Venue prize for their top live music and drinks offer.

Pixel Games was crowned Best New Business for 2026, praised as a fantastic new addition to the town centre.

Coffee Care took home the Business Service Award, commended for their super friendly team and an excellent service. Howcroft’s Funeral Service’s received the Special Recognition Award in this category for offering more than 100 years of service in the North Yorkshire town.

The Coffee Shop of the Year prize was won by Bean Loved, while Coopers were handed the Special Recognition Award in the coffee shop category.

The Boat House Bar claimed the Pub/Bar of the Year award, nominated for the team’s homely welcome.

Balanced Life Physio won the Health & Wellbeing Business of the Year – described as a ‘special place in Skipton’ by those who nominated them. Meanwhile, Rebecca Rennolds Clinic was celebrated as the Hair & Beauty Business of the Year for their impeccable service helping local people to thrive.

The Leisure & Tourism title was taken home by the Skipton Hotel on the night, nominated as the ‘perfect place for a Yorkshire getaway’.

Phoebe’s was crowned Restaurant of the Year in the town, with Dogsbody & Friends highlighted as the top retailer in Skipton.

Sarah Howsen added: “Huge congratulations to all of our winners, we hope you had a fantastic night celebrating with us!”
