Elsworth at the Mill are searching for someone to join their small, friendly team as a Sous Chef. A family-owned business, you’ll be working in a team of two, alongside their award-winning chef Bruce Elsworth. The role is varied and exciting, based at an award-winning bespoke events space in the heart of Skipton hosting various food-focussed events including Supper Clubs, Food & Wine Pairing, Food & Music Events, Cooking Demonstrations, Cooking Classes, Corporate events, Weddings and everything in between!
You will be working in a fresh-food kitchen, with emphasis on homemade food and good quality ingredients. Open to varying levels of experience, whether you are a Chef de partie, looking for your first Sous Chef position, or alternatively a chef with years of experience, with competitive pay dependent thereon. Creativity is important for this role, you’ll have free rein and plenty of time to plan and develop menus and ideas, and contribute your own fresh, creative ideas.
Experience:
Must be able to cook independently. Full training will be provided. Pastry skills are desired but not essential. The role requires someone willing to learn and improve themselves, and someone who is a team player, creative and upbeat.
Hours:
Hours are varied due to the nature of the business being an event space, but the hours are attractive and flexible.
Generally one day a weekend working and roughly 1-2 nights a week.
Closed for 10 days over Christmas, closed for a week in August in the summer holidays.
2 days off per week. Work days include weekdays, evenings and weekends, depending on what events are booked in.
General working hours through the week are 9.30-5.
